Mental health and children


No child should have sleepless nights; no child should be avoiding or missing school; no child should be talking about death. These are some of the signs which indicate your child needs support. It’s normal for a child to feel sad sometimes. Its persistent sadness which needs to be recognised so we can support the child. If not recognised early this could develop into a suicidal intent in the future and complex mental health.


Did you know 10% of children between the ages of 5 and 16 are known to have a mental health problem. 70% of children and adolescents who have mental health issues this group of people have not had appropriate intervention at an early age.


First Aid It, was a company launched with the ideology of empowering individuals through the expansion of knowledge. Mental health awareness is not just a sensitive issue however; it is a lifestyle that must be inhibited throughout the veins of mankind.

Mental health is frowned upon. Mental health is not considered a problem. Mental health does exist!
